21 Mar Invasive Species Removal Days are Back!
For the second year in a row, the Crandall Park Beautification Committee is teaming up with Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District to remove invasive species from the woods of Crandall Park.
Last year over 60 volunteers donated over 100 hours to remove burning bush, Oriental bittersweet, honeysuckle, Japanese barberry and Norway Maples. Their efforts were invaluable in preserving the natural beauty of our park.
This year, we have reserved three Fridays in May as dedicated workdays: May 9th, 16th, and 30th. Volunteers are invited to meet at the pollinator garden at 12:30 pm for a half-hour education session hosted by the Soil and Water Conservation District. Following the session, groups will head into the woods at 1:00 pm to begin removing the invasive species.
If you would like to join us in this important effort, please sign up via our sign-up genius. The Beautification Committee and the City of Glens Falls are deeply appreciative of everyone willing to pitch in and help keep our forests beautiful and healthy.
